THE DETAILS

July 2018

Tekau: Don’t be Dull – In-house exhibition which explored the memories associated with the Tekau knitwear company.

December 2018 – February 2019

DIG IN – Mahi Māra – A special kids exhibition about gardening and sustainability, where all the fruit and veges have been knitted by the community.

Annual Summer Burty Challenge – The annual challenge is a great way to keep youngsters occupied and the activities are free. Youngsters are challenged to do two specific tasks at each of the locations, have their challenge card stamped and then go into a draw to win one of three family passes to Ōpuke Thermal Pools.

There are 10 challenges in total, and a full card earn a free disc golf hire from EA Networks Centre.

Make Do and Mend – The idea behind the exhibition was to draw out items from the collection that reflect the clever ways that Ashburton locals have made good use of the resources available to them. These themes of creativity, thrift, need or problem solving tie in with a widespread contemporary interest in sustainability and the uses of renewable and reusable resources.
