We’re excited to support the Tarbotton RideSmart Park, a community-led project taking shape in the heart of Ashburton. The goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where kids and adults can learn to ride, build confidence, and develop real-world road safety skills.

Located within the Ashburton Domain next to the playground, the Tarbotton RideSmart Park will become a vibrant cycling hub designed with inclusion in mind. Wide, accessible paths, wheelchair-friendly lookout points, shaded areas, picnic spaces, and rest zones will ensure people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the park.

The Tarbotton RideSmart Park will help children, young people, and adults build vital riding skills and road safety awareness. This is especially important for Ashburton schoolchildren, many of whom cross busy roads, a main highway, and even a railway line on their way to school. Beyond riding, the park will also provide spaces to relax, connect, and enjoy the Domain.

The project is being delivered through a partnership of local service clubs, community organisations, and the Ashburton District Council, supported by the Mid Canterbury Community Wellbeing and Safety Enhancement Trust. A significant contribution from Tarbotton Land & Civil, including donated time, expertise, and materials sourced at cost, has played a key role in maintaining momentum and maximising community benefit.
