Too often you see businesses taking the cheap option and getting FREE design done, more often than not, that is what you get. FREE and CHEAP looking.
FREE ‘usually’ means you have someone whipping up adverts, signage, business cards or logos very quickly… Don’t get me wrong, it is great to be able cut costs, but not when it comes to lowering the quality of your brand.
You need your logo design and branding style to be versatile so that it can easily be transferred onto digital/offset print, advertising, signage and the web without any hassle.
With an inexperienced ‘designer’ you open yourself up to more problems; from color matching disasters, to outdated and mismatched fonts, then the common uninspiring and unaligned artwork.
Even more destructive is looking inferior to your competitors – giving them an instant advantage over you and your business.
A lot of FREE design offers are made to get you to buy an end product. They don’t get paid for the design, therefore they don’t take time to create the best design, or one that personally suits you and what your business offers.
So if you are thinking about creating a new logo, business card, signage or advert, make sure you hire a professional designer, someone who knows what they are doing and can help you out in ALL aspects of your branding.
Your brand is who you are, your style and attitude, this is how people remember you…don’t be forgotten.
TIP: If you simply must get free design done, make sure you take in a sample of your current branding style (images, colours, fonts, shapes and layouts), a disc of your hi res logo files and a reference to your website – the last thing you want is your beautiful brand transformed into an unaligned, mismatched font and colour matching mess, eek!
